Bishopstone Ranch

Bishopstone hunting area is situated around 350km south of Bulawayo along the Bulawayo - Beit bridge highway
approximately three and a half hours drive from Bulawayo airport.
The main lodge has fantastic accommodation, three fully serviced chalets able to sleep two people per chalet all with en-suite
bathroom and toilet facilities. There is also a fully serviced entertainment area comprising dining room, bar, fire pit and
swimming pool. From the lodge there is a scenic view overlooking the Umzingwani river which has a seasonal flow of rain
water.

There is also a ‘fly camp’ at the opposite end of the concession comprised of three luxury tents with flush toilets and
hot and cold showers. This facility is on the banks of the Mazunga river which is also seasonal but holds pools of water all
year round.

It is situated in the game fenced hunting area which is 40,000 acres in extent and has a healthy population of Buffalo, Impala, Nyala, Wildebeest, Baboon, Bushbuck and Giraffe, as well as a good number of Bushpig, Eland, Kudu, Warthog and Zebra and if one is lucky, Cheetah, Civet, Duiker, Genet, Hyena, Jackal, Steenbuck, Waterbuck and a number of Leopard. Caracal, Sable and Crocodile are also available but not in great numbers.

There is also hunting carried out ‘outside’ the fenced area, mainly along the Umzingwani river where numbers of several
species occur, particularly Nyala, Bushbuck, Bushpig and too many Impala.

A fair amount of walking, stalking, as well as glassing will be on the cards but the majority of hunts are successful.
The venue is an ideal location for a hunter to bring his wife and family and even for two hunters to enjoy.
