Brazil is well known as the premiere Peacock Bass fishing in the world. At the unheard of price of only $3400 US dollars daily, we offer some of the most affordable and top quality Peacock bass fishing in all of Brazil. This is a very affordable trip for anyone who ever dreamed of fishing the Amazon but does not want to or can’t spend five thousand or more. You wont get a better deal! You will base out of the beautifull Itapara Lodge on the Rio Itapara in the heart of the Amazon. Approximately two hours by air from Manaus. The Rio Itapara is known for it's trophy fish of up to 30 pounds. At the lodge, your accommodations are comfortable, clean and air conditioned with AC. The meals and service are great. No other commercialfishing lodges located near this area.
The best months to fish is during the dry Oct.-April . Optimal fishing months are Oct.-Nov. The water is low during this time and the fish are concentrated and hungry.
The fishing is conducted out of aluminum boats with 25-35 hp Susuki and Yamaha outboards. You can fish all day from sunrise to sunset. You can fish with either conventional tackle or Fly fishing. You must bring your own tackle. Bring plenty of lures, flies, line and leader material. Other species that can be caught incidentally or targeted include : the mighty Arapaima, Arowana, Payara, Black and Red Bellied Piranha, Black Pacu, Corvina (freshwater drum), Trairao (wolf fish), Piraiba catfish, Bicuda, Jacuda, and Oscar and several lesser species of catfish.
