  • Paraguay is a unique and wild country with a population of only 6 million. It also has an amazing history. The pigeon hunting takes place in the sparsely populated Chaco region, specifically near Filadelfia in Boquerón province.  This is a beautiful  Mennonite farming region. The farming and crop harvest is so successful that it is ground zero for millions of Speckled Wing and Pico Azul pigeons.  Yes, the best pigeon hunting in the world with minimal to no pressure! 

    Our Pigeon hunt in Paraguay is the best Pigeon hunt in the world.     The Mennonites welcome the hunters to knock down the pigeons which are so numerous they can be real pest. These pigeon are tough birds. They can take a direct hit and keep on flying. They fly hard and fast. 

    Our host continuously scouts to assure quality hunting. Pigeon hunting is special. It takes special tactics, blinds, decoys and numerous  hunting sites, knowledge and experience. Our host has it all. You can expect solid action with up to 1000-1300 plus shots possible daily. Some skillful wing shots have put 1000 birds on the ground in one day.  Our host will meet you upon arrival, take care of every detail and be with you every step of the way.

    Hunting season normally runs between mid-April and mid July. This is very pleasant time weather wise and corresponds with their fall and winter. Hunting is great throughout this period with a few peaks during peak harvest times. May is a great time. The  price is currently $4090 for a four day hunt per hunter  Four hunter minimum. Discounts for more days and larger groups.  Included are ground transportation from Asuncion to the hunt site, license, gun permits, lodging,  food, wine, and beer. Shells are $14.00 a box. Gun rental is $40 (Bennelis and Berretas) daily. Bird boy fees (2 per hunter) $30-$40 each daily. Note our bird boys (bird guides is a better description) have years of experience (20 years in some cases). They do much more than just pick up dead birds. They make the hunt by building superb blinds, setting up decoys, etc. All birds harvested are picked up and given to the locals for consumption. No birds are left to rot in the field. There is no wanton waste of game here.

    The pigeon hunting expense in Paraguay tends to run higher than Argentina due to logistics and higher operational costs.  However the Paraguay hunt is by far a much superior experience  and is well worth it. You will be amazed by what you see, shoot and experience. This is a bucket list hunt for the wing shooter. Again, It will probably the highlight of your wing shooting career. The lodging is done from a very comfortable, spacious and clean hotel only minutes away from the hunt site. You will be in field all day.
